Quebec-Based Poaching Ring Dismantled in Alberta 03/10/06
Five people entered guilty pleas in Alberta Provincial Court in Wainwright, to breaking provincial and federal wildlife regulations. On February 2, 2006, the Court fined the five people a total of $26,750, and barred each individual from hunting in Alberta for five years. [Comments?]
Seven Quebec Deer Hunters Fined $7,230 12/16/05
Seven Quebec hunters were recently convicted of 13 Saskatchewan Wildlife Act violations and fined a total of $7,230 for over-limit hunting and illegally tagging big game animals with Manitoba hunting licence tags. [Comments?]

Resident Sentenced to $47,456 in Fines for Poaching Activities 03/18/05
A resident of the city of Lévis, Québec, pleaded guilty in the Court of Québec, Criminal and Penal Chamber, to 45 charges relating to the purchase, sale and possession of black bear gall bladders for the purpose of illegal interprovincial trade. He was sentenced to pay of $47,456 in fines and court costs. [Comments?]

Permit Required to Import Canadian Hunter-Harvested Game Meat 08/08/03
Hunters can immediately begin bringing wild ruminant meat products intended for their personal use into the United States, but will need a “Veterinary Services Special Permit for the Importation of Hunter-Harvested Wild Ruminant Meat,” along with one of the following: a valid Canadian export certificate for game meat, or a copy of a valid hunting license or a valid hunting tag.
